It is beneficial to the company to retain the skilled and qualified employees, in their I.T department. With these available skills, many companies frame a target of achieving to its employees, in different roles of the organisation. Nowadays many companies are employing I.T qualified persons with an M.B.A degree, so as to make them understand how the business works apart from the technical functions. At the same time some companies, particularly smaller organizations, are reluctant to employ highly qualified persons as they may leave the jobs at any time in search of better opportunities. But to employ I.T professionals with the required skills is cost effective in the long run.

Employee engagement is a business management concept that gauges the level an employee will act in a way to further the employer’s interests. Employee engagement should not be confused with employee motivation, or satisfaction, rather it is the degree an employee aligns themselves with the values and goals of the company they work for. It is a relatively useful and measureable characteristic that many companies have used to learn how they can better utilize their workforce.

Engaged employees feel a vested interest in the outcome of the company they work for and are therefore willing to “go the extra mile” in their responsibilities at work. An employee that demonstrates a higher level of engagement is more productive and needs less management compared to other less engaged employees, allowing the company to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the employee. Statistics have shown that an engaged employee is less of a liability in regards to safety, create higher revenue, are more customer focused and are less likely to leave their employer. These attributes in engaged employees save and earn companies millions of dollars. Though it is fairly simple to measure an employee’s level of engagement it is not as easy to determine how employee engagement can be improved. The assessment of employee engagement can be used to compare if techniques to improve employee engagement are working. It is noteworthy to understand that a lack of action after such a test can often lower employee engagement.

High employee engagement boosts a company’s bottom line. It is fairly simple to determine the level an employee experiences engagement; however it is not as simple to determine what may increase a person’s engagement.
